We were very happy upon gaining Alpine Col, but a quick read of the map said that our descent into Darwin Canyon would be even steeper that our climb up from Goethe Lake, yay. By the time we got to Alpine Col we were knackered, partly from the climb, but partly from the accumulated demands on our bodies over the last 4 days.
