Thanks, Keith. All I do to remove a background is go around it on a dupe layer (using desired background color layer beneath) with a small soft eraser. Then, to get the hair or beard back along the edges, I use a clone tool (beard) or hairy smudge tool (to pull hairs out as wisps). See tutes on my site:http://www.innographx.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1193 andhttp://www.innographx.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3817

Hey Phyllis, You are obviously a master at masking. If you dont mind, what technique (steps) do you use when removing a person from their background? BTW I love the photo challenge you did on one of my original pictures of Jeff. Thanks for your interest.

wow... The eyes are great. I almost can not believe this is a posibility with todays softwares. I´m impressed. Thanks.

The eyes are great, but I'm more impressed with the beard/hair! Amazing job extracting individual hairs! Really makes it convincing. How'd you do it? Did you go back and draw in your own stray hairs?

I fixed the eyes by making a separate layer of them, rotating to horizontal, then using transform to heighten them and rotating back. Erased away the obvious overlap and merged.

Phyllis, ditto on bubsters comment. How do you fix the eyes like that?

Much better image! Thanks for putting in what you did. Makes it easier for me to follow on one of my own images.
