Wetaskiwin, a name from the Cree Indians meaning "Hills of Peace". It is one of the oldest cities in Alberta and will be celabrating 100 years as a City next year. It is known as home of the Auto Mile. [ Cars Cost Less In Wetaskiwin ].The City of Wetaskiwin has so much to offer. First class Airport. Sports minded, the best softball pitcher in the world came from here Mr.Jevne. Many made the NHL. The Original Wetaskiwin Sunset Speedway. Canadian Champion soft ball champs. Two Great golf courses. World Class walleye fishing close by. One half hour to Edmonton the capital [West Edmonton Mall, two and half hours to Calgary, three and a half hours to Banff, five hours to Jasper, and thirty minutes to the International Airport. Hi: Lory Kennedy here. Very nice pictures. Pleasant surprise when I looked at the picture of peace hills heights, and it is, in fact, Peace Hills Park. Pleasant surprise because I live in peace hills park, and was happy to find a nice picture of my house.
