Elilis Bird Farm Lacombe Alberta

The Ellis Bird Farm consists of a grain elevator built in 1937 and is the oldest standing "seed elevator" in Alberta. As well as a Tea House, self-guided trails, demonstration wildlife gardens, a picnic area, bird banding tours and the "World's Largest" collection of functional bluebird nestboxes. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Easy drive to get there, Layed back with so many species of birds in one area. Lot of benches to sit down and enjoy the bird life.. It's May 24 and a little bit early for their flower bed...but rest of the Ellis Bird Farm makes up for it.. So many different bird nesting on site there.. Martins, swallows, robin, humming birds and many species of waterfowl.. Also if your luck there is a beaver dam to sit by..There is an area for the young children to get up close to small animals and birds.. There is a tea house where you can have tea and deserts... Nice sitting area outside in the Garden... On the way out you can go their gift shop which is pretty nice. Loaded with display's in side. You can get binoculars there to use for free, just have to leave a deposit to use them, which is only right.. The staff make you feel like you are at home... I just talked to my daughter and encourage them to go... I know my grandchildren will have a blast...
In this photo the children can net poly wogs {baby frogs} and whatever water bugs there are... lots of seat for the adults to watch their children...
