The past few mornings, when I've nipped across the road from our cottage to set up the tripod on the beach,
there has been no-one else about. With one exception.
Every morning, when an unclouded dawn is in prospect, a workman in a large white van has pulled up beside the beach, overlooking the sea.
There he sits with his engine turned off, watching the sunrise in the peace and silence of early morning.
As soon as the sun has risen, he starts his van and away he goes to work.
