Reference to Alans comment. He was correct..but...There was a lot of work being doone by the local council at the time of his visit. and the beach has all been restored. The works were almost completed by may and summer activities were back to normal by June. I know it seems hard to beieve because in March the beach had been removed, but now it is all back :-) happy days!!

A great gallery Pedro. Just got back from a quick visit and very upset to see that the winter storms have swept most of the beach away! Very different from your photos. The lagoon now comes right up to the roadside. All the beach in your pictures at the start of row 21 has gone, and all the ocean side beach has gone too. All the beach tents in the photo on the top row would now be in the middle of the ocean!! The diggers are out piling up rocks to try and stop further erosion but it will be a long time before the ocean returns the beach to Foz do Arelho!

Wonderful, I like all your photos, but especially those that were most recently added, as I just returned from Foz and enjoyed lots of the time on the beach with the aberta the way it is just now. They'd just begun moving it farther south down the beach...but the swimming was excellent as it was.

I love Foz Do Arelho, not just because my family is from Foz but all the great memories I have from there. Great beach, great bars, and Green Hill till 7am. Excellent. Try the shots. Ps: Ola mae!

Quando era pequena adorava praia e nunca ía, agora não gosto de praia. Apesar de tudo, adoro a Foz do Arelho, passei lá bons momentos, pic nics de família junto ao penedo furado :D que delírio. Todas estas imagens me fazem recordar esses belos velhos tempos. Deves de gostar bastante deste sítio, pelo que se sente nas tuas imagens... estão todas lindas. Beijinhos para os 3 e bom fim de semana.

May I say how well you have captured the essence of Foz. Your technique is just great, you really feel the ambience of the place. I would love to see you add more photos of the village interior, say the Quinta do Foz and the square as an instance.

I was thrilled when I first found these pix, they bring back memories of the beautiful beaches in FOZ. I lived in Serra do Bouro which is about 2 miles away.
