Saturday morning we arrived at the Salt Rock Gap parking lot to low clouds and a misty rain.
It had been raining earlier in the morning at Harry's house so we knew the hike would be a damp
one. We didn't let a little water dampen our spirits. Our mission today was to find the jackpot
of pink lady slippers(PLS). Once we hit the trail, the rain had stopped. What a nice surprise to
be greeted by waves of Catawba rhodos and mountain laurel both on full bloom.
