This is classic lake effect snow! Really cold, dry air from Canada (thanks all my Canadian PBase friends) blows over the warmer (36F or ~2C) Lake Ontario, picks up moisture from the lake and dumps lots of snow on us. Since I haven't been outside yet today, I'd estimate there is "at least" 5 inches of new snow since last night. I'm waiting for the snow to let up before I go out with the snow thrower. Yesterday I had 4 inches of light fluffy snow in the driveway which I shoveled pretty easily in an hour. By the way it's 22F (~ -6C) with NW winds 17mph gusting to 30mph so that gives it a wind chill of around 6F (~ -14C). That "yellow thing" is the fire hydrant which is almost buried but I'll clear it out as I usually do.
And to think on Friday I took a shot of my daffodils coming up already...
