Wonder What I'll Be Doing Later Today?

This is classic lake effect snow! Really cold, dry air from Canada (thanks all my Canadian PBase friends) blows over the warmer (36F or ~2C) Lake Ontario, picks up moisture from the lake and dumps lots of snow on us. Since I haven't been outside yet today, I'd estimate there is "at least" 5 inches of new snow since last night. I'm waiting for the snow to let up before I go out with the snow thrower. Yesterday I had 4 inches of light fluffy snow in the driveway which I shoveled pretty easily in an hour. By the way it's 22F (~ -6C) with NW winds 17mph gusting to 30mph so that gives it a wind chill of around 6F (~ -14C). That "yellow thing" is the fire hydrant which is almost buried but I'll clear it out as I usually do.
And to think on Friday I took a shot of my daffodils coming up already...

This has been a very weird year weather wise, stay warm and safe while clearing the snow!

I can't believe you have all that snow almost overnight! Amazing how quickly these storms can move in. Up here, we have a cold, but sunny day, no snow. I do love the effect of the snow on your streetscape though. Very pretty.

I told you to wait until tomorrow when you pictured the "no snow" photo. We got that Artic blast this weekend and it is sooo cold and very dry. I think by Wednesday we will be at 70 degrees again.
