Almost Like The Movie Groundhog Day...

Yesterday the local weather forecasters were predicting a ton of snow for my area. "Lake Effect" snows ranging from 4 to 6 inches (10cm to 15cm) in some areas and 8 to 12 inches (20cm to 30cm) in those areas closer to the lake. Well we all know Mother Nature is in charge and all we got was about 1 inch (2.54cm) of snow. The part of the forecast they did get correct was the temperature: it's a cool 12F ( -11C) and that's about as high as it will get today. Add in some brisk NW winds and the wind chill is down to -2F ( -19C).
However the prediction for Thursday through the weekend is temperatures back near 40F (4C) so it will all melt away again.

I can't say I envy your northern weather, I will have to bring out the lawn mower soon.

It makes me smile when I think of how many times the weather forecasters get it wrong, Patti!
If people in many another job had such a large failure rate, with such sophisticated equipment, they would be fired!

Same here, Patti. We were supposed to get that lake effect snow too...not the same lake as yours but the forecasters were just as wrong! They're predicting 40's here too. Hard to believe it's really Winter. A nicely documented photo of your 1 inch of snow ;)

A few inches of snow and milder weather, in the near future would be fine with me.

Sun on fresh snowfall certainly brings a clean, fresh look.

You have some exercise cut out for you. The fresh snow does make things like clean for a little while. :-))

Undisturbed snow is always very pretty, and an inch is better than two inches, and 12 degrees is better than -12 degrees, and.... stop me! Stop me! I like this scene, I'm sure the farmers would like the snow for the moisture it brings and I'm not sure how much is enough or too much, and we need the cold to kill off some germs etc. but, to get back to the point... I like this picture, nice sky, good POV, well done Patti! :-)

A very lovely capture,Patti! Mother nature has a way of doing as she pleases!!
The more technology the forecasters get the further off the seem to get at forecasting!
