An old iron bridge on Soda Springs Road in Caldwell County, Texas, Southeast of Lockhart. It is another Lenticular Pony Truss Design and is no longer in service.
About 4 miles North of Luling on FTM 86, then East on Soda Springs Rd. Built in 1920 by the Berlin Company. The bridges of the community now provide the presence of the community. Once known as Sour Springs, from the high sodium carbonate content of the water, it was changed to the easier-to-swallow name of Soda Springs, although no one is sure of the date.
A Sour Springs post office was in existence briefly (1857 1880). The town was on maps into the 1940s when the flow of the springs was still notable. A drastic decrease occurred between the late 40s and the mid 1970s.
