In the top image a Jay had been hammering at a peanut I had lodged in this stump. The peanut was put there for a Black Chipmunk that would climb up through the stump for treats...and photos. The Jays would often come in and steal the peanuts ( they are allowed since that us what they do :-) ) But in this case the peanut was firmly lodged and right after opening the top of the shell, who shows up but the little black furball who takes what is rightfully his .At first the Jay is dumfounded....You can see the Jay is a little P.ssed off in the bottom shot as he yells at the exiting robber lol
