|Message from Catherine Gardner
Welcome, my name is Catherine Gardner and I am a Freelance Photographer living in Nepean, Ontario, Canada.
My love of photography started at a very young age when my grandfather introduced me to his love of taking photos. Up until the summer of 2003 I was taking what I now call snap shots, and although I was particular about what I wanted in my photos, I did not understand how to accomplish that. I had no understanding of what was needed to create a good photo or what could destroy it! I had no idea how to use natural lighting to my advantage or how to take charge of my camera.
After facing a major life change in 2000, I started seeing things around me differently and in the Spring of 2003 after capturing a "once in a life time shot" http://www.pbase.com/catherinegardner/image/25320729 I realized that I had a hidden gift! I not only starting seeing things I had missed in the past but I was now able to capture it.
With the support and encouragement of a number of people I started to take my photography more serious to the point where I knew that could produce work not only that I would enjoy hanging on my wall but that my photography could make a difference in someones life!
Although I have an interest in a number of areas of photography my main interest lies with Nature, Wildlife and Photojournalism.
This site is dedicatd to my late Grandfather, who through his love of photography showed me that there is something good to be found in everyone and everything.
I welcome any comments / suggestions you may have
Again thank you for dropping in and please come again!
