Zest Airways operations have been suspended by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) due to safety issues. The Philippines has been trying to get back its Category 1 rating and this is a positive step.

News - A Zest A320 made an emergency landing in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. The aircraft was on its way to Bangkok from Abu Dhabi after an overhaul when it developed a pressurization system problem. 6 crew members aboard landed safely.

Right now, Philippine carriers are using Airbus A320s because it fits their criteria. Will they ever use Embraer? Maybe someday. There are bound to be new airlines in the future. They may decide to use other planes beside the A320.

I agree with Fredrich. I myself have wondered why none of the local airlines have used the Embraer regional jets. Economies of scale perhaps?

Yeah, embraers are ecnomical and good type of fleet for inter regional flights. Specially the 190 and 195

So Zest is leasing 2 320´ies from Tiger to be put into service for substituting PAL domestic routes soon. Any comments ?

i hope that they will get their embraers soon and mix up the domestic market anew. good competition is always great for the riding public and it would be grand to see some sleek embraers flying philippine skies.

Zest is Best !

Now there´s an airline in Philippine skies showing everyone how to start an airline.
Despite 2 craches in Caticlan, passenger numbers are growing as never before in Philippine aviation history.
