After a wonderful day in Queenstown we cruised Lake Wakatipu aboard the steamship TSS Earnslaw. It is one of the extremely rare original, coal-fired, passenger-carrying vessels. It is just as it was in 1912....in the engine room stokers till shovel coal into the boilers at the rate of one ton per hour...we could see the engines and it was amazing. We cruised to dinner at Walter Peak High Country Farm and had dinner in the lovely dining room and then watched a sheep dog herding sheep and a sheep shearing demonstration from one of the funniest men it was our pleasure to meet.
As before, my camera could not capture the complete beauty of the area....
