Tonight’s sunset was very special. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a lovely one because of all the rain we have been having, but tonight it meant so much. John and I were married on the back porch at sunset on
July 1, 1996. So I considered the sunset a very special gift and it gave me so much joy.
A few tears while I was taking the photo, but that is OK.
Tears of remembrance and gratitude for joys, past and present, not tears of sorrow.
(I made sure to select a photo that shows eight of my Purple Martins....they are a blessing, too.)

I bought something special for myself yesterday. I'm getting ready for Australia and New Zealand with a new lens, so the sunset helped me test it, too. Much has changed in eleven years….I took photos then, but today
I can say photography is one of the most wonderful gifts I have been blessed with, and so are each of you.
