Shunde is now a district of Foshan. It is famous for its unique style of Cantonese cooking featuring fresh local ingredients including dairy products.
We visited Qinghui Garden (清暉園) in 大良 (aka 鳳城). This exquisite garden was a villa of wealthy families. It was first built in early 17th century by the 黃 family, who later sold it in the late 18th century to the 龍 family. It was designed to maximize shade and ventilation suitable for the subtropical climate of southern China.
