Lagoon around Venice

Venice was built on a group of islands in the middle of a lagoon. Like most tourists, we came over the Ponte Della Liberta Bridge to Piazzale Tronchetto. From here we took a ferry to the island of Murano before arriving at Piazza San Marco. This detour around Venice gave us a first glimpse of its unique beauty before setting foot on it.
