We gathered together to voice our support for the Nov 2008 California ballet initiative Proposition 8, which recognizes only marriages between a man and a woman as valid.

This Celebration of Family Day is sponsored by the Southern California Chinese Christian for Marriage Amendment. For Chinese, red is the traditional color for weddings and other happy occasions.

Personally, I am relieved but not elated in the passage of Proposition 8. For our society is deeply divided on this emotional issue. Prior to casting my YES vote, I studied Roman 1:27 carefully and was convinced that there is no ambiguity in its interpretation. Nevertheless, criticizing other’s lifestyle choice makes me feel like a hypocrite. I deeply believe that we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Only by the grace of God are we redeemed.
