Peterhof, Dutch for Peter’s Court, is located 25km west of St. Petersburg on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. With its Grand Palace, the Upper and Lower Gardens, it is known as the Russian Versailles. Czar Peter the Great laid out the ground in 1721. During WW2, the statues around the fountains were hidden before the Nazi occupation. They have been restored.
