Valley View

Valley of Fire State Park, Clark County, NV view map

Looking through one of the many small arches towards the northeastern edge of the state park.
Even though this morning was a bit overcast, it only took a few hours for the clouds to give way to blazing Sun.
This is a merge of three exposures for a mild HDR treatment.

The opening in the rocks frames this landscape so nicely. I really like how the dirt road leads into the distance and links the foreground to the background. A very well composed and shot image. Voted

the view to the distance is as if through opening curtains...seems fascinating here...perhaps a cloudy sky for a few hours was welcome too..
