Uh oh... I worked just shy of 14 hours today and it was dark going to work, and dark coming home. I didn't have any time to do any photography! When I was leaving the office I noticed our Palm Trees freshly trimmed stretching up into the overcast sky. I figured I'd give it a try. This picture was taken in the dark of night, but there's a low overcast that is being lit up by the city lights. Kind of cool how it makes the sky look. However, I don't have much to choose from today! Hopefully this will suffice.

What a great perspective and subject. You just don't see anything like this in Wisconsin That sky is just remarkable.

This is a very interesting shot, Paul. I like the perspective - and that sky color is impossible to believe! :>

Thanks Nikki and thanks Jeanne. :) Regarding the tripod question, I actually never have a tripod with me, but I can usually find something to wedge my camera against to get a picture. In this case, I backed my car up close to the trees (since I didn't notice this as being a photo opportunity until driving out of the parking lot), and wedged my camera against the top of the door in such a way that I could hold it steady enough. :) I took about five pictures, some of them less steady than others.

This is wonderful! A 3 second exposure? Do you carry a portable tripod with you? Or are you super-steady!?

It's interesting that it was dark, yet the sky has a surreal, eerie appearance. I like the contrast between sky and tree.
