Used as a residence by Katherine Parr, the last and surviving wife of King Henry VIII, Henry himself, Lady Jane Gray, Anne Boleyn and Queen Elizabeth I, Sudeley Castle has existed in one form or another since the 11th century. Abandoned to the ravages of the elements and scavengers in the mid 17th century, the castle began to fall to ruins. What was once an exterior wall now frames a garden.
