I took quite a lot of macro on this trip. It really was quite a lot of fun with this camera/lens combination. In particular having the combination of flip screen, very usable ISO800, a proper live view focus and really sharp lens was irresistable. This was the full frame of this shot (ie it's not cropped at all).

Not the fault of the equipment, but depth of field was a bit of a difficulty. Since the leaf was moving around in the breeze I had to take a few shots and hope for the best with the focus (and to some extent with the composition). If you've ever tried macro in the field you'll probably be nodding your head at this point.

Thanks for the comments. I'm more confident describing this one as "colourful" than "beautiful"; but that's probably an example of prejudice based on the number of legs. :)
