Just to show that we are not firmly stuck in the 19th century. The water front used to be a collection of warehouses, coal piles, and silos. Where the four high rise buildings on the left sit used to be a locomotive factory that was closed in the mid 60's. The last of these buildings was completed last year. Things move apace in Kingston. The near dome is City Hall the one behind is St. Georges Cathedral. Shoal Tower is predominant in the fore ground and that is the Sail Training Vessel Fair Jeanne tied up to the left of the Holiday Inn. The tall spire on the right belongs to Sydenham Street United Church and that is Kingston Yacht Club at the far left. This image was shot from The Royal Military College on Point Frederick.
