Grapes 05219 copy.jpg

Kingston, Ontario, Canada, a UNESCO World Heritage Destination

Concord grapes growing on the arbour over the patio table. They are suitable for relish and the Great Grape Harvest Festival and provide wonderful shade during the summer. The vines while not ancient are in excess of 50 years old.

Fond memories abound when I see Concord grapes. I grew up in N.J. and these were ripe about the same time that school started. We had a grape vine that was quite prolific and after school I would treat myself to more grapes. You pop these grapes out of their skin and into your mouth. Sweet, juicy and delicious.! My neighbor would use them to make a Concord grape pie. I seldom see these in Texas...

fabulous...reminds me of the vines that grew at my grandparents...we loved them to sit under during boiling hot Aussie summers when we were young.
