Big Al Mayo's 2013 Modern Day Union Pacific Southern California Desert Rail Division 21'x25'layout.
I started building this layout February 12, 2004 and have been going at it hard every since. I chose to model modern day Union Pacific because I love the big diesels of today and love UPs paint scheme as well as their heritage units. I felt the need to model the Desert so I chose to model UP in Southern California to Arizona thru the desert. I built the layout 100% by myself from the benchwork to all of the details. I learned many skills of model railroading since I began this layout about 9 years ago and I no longer consider myself a newbie. I've been into model railroading since 2001. That was when I built my first Toys R Us tiny ass 4'x8' layout. I really hope you enjoy the pictures on my new website!
