Near Record Flow

Bonnet Carre Spillway, Louisiana

Earlier this week the Bonnet Carre Spillway was at 316,000 cfs of flow.

The spillway is designed for 250,000 cfs so it is already exceeding its designed capacity.

The current rate of flow is just of short of the record high in spillway's 83 year history.

Official says that if all the bays were opened a new record would be set.
