Reply from Kevin. My first car was a '69, and I was heavily into car recognition at the time, especially Chevrolets. The flair at the fenders going backward is a detail of the '69 and early '70. The '67-'68 had rounded wheelwells. Another detail is that side marker lights were mandated by the NHSA on all US cars starting in 1968- so a 1967 would not have them unless the fenders were changed at some point. The design extended into 1970 because there were startup issues for the second generation model until 2/1970, so it could be a 1970 also. Some called them a '70 1/2 but that was not true officially.
