The bird sanctuorum of Molsbroek extend on an area of 80 ha and was originally used as a marsh to elevate hay. Traces were found that in the Midage this area was also used to gain peat.
Nowadays more the 2000 bird species come to brood their nests here.
The Mallard is one of them in majority besides more rare species even from Afrika. All the birds were quite lazy with this hot weather, not flying around but resting.
