Unlike the North Gopuram of the Meenakshi Temple, the bold headed one (see previous), this south entrance gate tower is ornamented with 1511 sudhai figures, all the deities and demons competing to each others as an eternal fight. With his 51 meters it is the highest Gopuram of the four.
