I gave both a copy of this photo in A4 to hang it at their home for the joint performance of their professional know-how at their shift of duty.
They work in shifts from 4 o'clock in the morning till 12 at night and those two prepare only the tea's and coffees in exchange for a zinc penny you buy at the desk next to them.
Being a regular client they already prepare my coffee as they see me crossing that terrible traffic.
In the afternoon I stick to tea. In Tamil Nadu you ask for 'Tea' to get that mix of milk, lot of sugar and some tea-extract. With a 'Paal illai' or 'Sacharai illai' you indicate that you don't want any milk or sugar.
Besides the hot drinks they sell a lot of small other stuff like cigarettes, banana's, lotterie-tickets, cookie's and so on ......
This tea stall is really a gold mine as people are passing all they long. The constables get their drinks for free in exchange for their help when there is some trouble.
