Thanx for the comments! Had a few minutes before work to take this shot- morning sun filtered thru trees gave that nice dappled light. No great story for that gaping hole- just cheap leather that wore out before it's time. Only go thu one pair a year, but I used to get more years out of a pair- wore out the soles, then planted them... now the sides go first. The ones on the left are still wearable, on the right comfortable but drafty.

I never really thought of how interesting shoes and especially boots can be until I was taking photos for this contest and looking at the entries. Boots seem to me to be very expressive footwear, and I like your example, nice lighting and shadows, that second boot from the right looks like it has a story to tell!

Really nice light in this one, the choice of placement on the bench was a good idea too. I must say the second boot from the right looks like its ready for planting!
