Feel no pain anymore max2000

Istra - Croatia

This photo is taken in an south istrian village in Croatia. The man slaugthered his calf, teared down the skin and cut the meat. After that he salted a calfskin to dehydrate it with a view to procure himself a carpet. So, that's it, cruel, crude but real.

What a compelling and powerful shot! I, too, find the ribs to be finger-like, which links us all together. Human or calf, we share the same basic assortment of bodily organs; we both feel pain; we each bleed when injured.

Well done.

Sure,

We all buy meat in the supermarket and we feel so noble as we are not born as a butcher

I won't tell you how many dead horrible things I've taken photos of. In fact I took one today. I don't know why a lot of us turn away but then have to look closer? I wonder what that says about us? It evokes so so many feelings that I can't really explain. It's an excellent shot Max,

Graphic yes, but sometimes you have to shock a little to tell the story!

I thought alot about posting such photo because I was worring that I'll shock a group. As Brent says, and he has an eagle eye (compliment), I noticed that this part of calfskin was set as a human hand with fingers and this hand was firmly pressing a thorax in sign of pain. The meat was separated from the skin, the blood vessels was cut and outexposed. It was still winter, cold, and the red blood instead of clotting, flowed over because of salt. I gave this title to a photo because of salt put on a big wound but no pain anymore, life's gone.
Anyway, thank You for comment my photo.

I thought at first it was fingers and someones blonde hair. I thought you must work at the county morgue or something. Wheww I'm very glad to see your expaination! It seems like it is sad the calf didn't have a life but at least it wasn't for waste and the man put to use everything he could.

The ribs look like fingers, the salt like snow/ice = the meat under the ribs to the right like a young persons chest - then the fur that does not protect against the cold or the bleeding. I am not sure what to think - but still I look.
