Thanks Stefan & Richard. Richard, you haven't seen this one before but I did do a similar shot in colour for an earlier challenge.

Wow, Frank. I need to cut down on the caffeine so I can drink in this electric scene of sunflowers. It is really eye-opening. Simply superb.

RSE=Raw Shooter Essentials, RSP= Raw shooter Professional. Adobe bought it few months ago. Was very nice programs.

There is some "scientific talk" going on around about how corn is altering the weather - after looking at this picture it is quite easy to see that sunflowers have that affect :-)

Just an amazing shot Frank! Look how you can still see the individual spots from the sunflower heads 137 rows back! very cool!

Endika: that's the trouble with a topic so loose... It is going to generate sooo many good pictures... this being one of them... :-)

Thanks for the comments. Miro, I'm afraid I don't know what RSE & RSP are. Nevertheless it is a RAW image converted by altering the luminance of the different colours to get the best(?) contrast in B&W.

Looks as a microphoto of the skin, with all these celules well aligned. Always I have found something of disquieting in sunflowers, something relationed with aliens, I don't know why... endika

Looks very good. Is it RAW converted in RSE or RSP? Strong shadow and highlights contrast sliders + strong fill in can give this effect.

How can you not love a field of Sunflowers! I am really surprised at how well they came out in b&w! I would never have thought of taking their sunshine away but look how well it worked for you Frank! Very nice shot.

Superb work, really! There's tons of intricate little details in this one, from the sunflowers that end up dissolving into little dots towards the horizon line, to the awesome cloud formation in the distance, almost as if the sky's frowning on these happy yellow plants. Great stuff!

What a winner Frank.. by far one of my favorites. The sea of sunflowers is spectacular against the backdrop of clouds. Love the detail.

oooo, i really like this. sunflowers are so unnatural in B&W that this is spectacular. a wonderful shot and a stunning conversion.
