Like others have commented, the hard steel against a soft blurred background emphasises the dial beautifully, I love the angle at which the picture was taken too

Well, gee whiz! I look at some of these shots 100 plus times and then realize all my thoughts about it were never put down. It must have been written in the wind that you should take this shot! It was perfect for the theme! So neat how the highlight of the shot is right up 3 o'clock. You musta had a touch of E.S.P.!

I agree: the contrast between the gray iron ring and the coloured background makes the photo; and the contrast between regular and irregular shapes is workinng in the same way. endika

Ah now - how many times in life do you see such a perfectly blurred background? This is art! the steel really sets it off and anchors the picture quite nicely.
