3rd Place - Trees at dusk by Bruce Clarke

The faint light through the trees reminded me of Caspar David Friedrich's 'The Evening'

He's a wonderful 19th century German romantic painter

Thanks Brent. They are quite young with velvety bark. The soft light helps bring it out,

I often shoot stands of poplars and have always done it during the full light of day - looking for high contrast. I can see how far off the mark I was. The beautiful shades of blues and greens really get this picture dancing. A picture worth treasuring.

Wow.......I just mentioned to Frank how I forget about the Exhibition after a few days. This is really something else!
Just georgeous.

I tried a space before and after the first link, but doesn't display, so you'll have to copy and paste : )

Thanks all. It's only a small stand of trees, but just there at the right time. It was shot from across the river, and a fence post had to make do as a tripod,

I love this too Bruce. The feelings that get stirred from this photograph are really strong. You can almost smell the trees and the dirt below. I don't think you could have got in any better then this.
