Whatever the subject is, it's a beautiful picture. And very fitting for this theme. Without the shadow the picture would definitely lose a lot of its appeal.

Well Charlie, I don't know what someone would call it. It's not a sculpture excactly because that is a big ol' boulder in the background. And I swear that branch looks real, like petrified wood and...well shoot...I'll go get a picture of the whole deal and put it in the originals, cause I can't explain it. LOL Watch for the "+" when I post it.

Doh!
So it is a sculpture? I wondered about that leaf but you got me. Must always have my laptop in good light when viewing photos.

Thanks charlie! And you're right Brent! It's a strange but interesting little bit of *art* that is out in front of the visitor's center there at Fort Snelling State Park. I was planning on going up and poking on this leaf to see what it was made out of, the colors are so nice but I'm sure it's some kind of metal?

Fort Snelling park? Wonderful color and texture, Shirley. Perfect title to match - nicely seen - brent

Outstanding shot all round Shirley. The deep earth tones are super. I really like these sort of nature out of the normal context shots.
