Hi Steryma,

well I had the sandwich of pop art and sepia and used the mask (created with the square gradient tool in PS) that is in the originals gallery to blend the two together. I wanted the road to be like a tunnel with the two contrasts at either end.
cheers Gerard

Adrian,

well you certainly highlighted a lot of things about this image thanks for that - for me the 'analysis of why' is something I don't do easily it's more - oh yeh I like that! ( simple soul eh) cheers Gerard

Gerard,

This is a very nice 'blend'. It distract and attract the eyes at the same time, creating 2 separate feeling with smooth transition. How did you work out the transition? excellent work.

Sue,

thanks for the complements - funny I almost though you were my sister - she's a SueMc! I'm into contrasts at the moment and I've always liked this pic with an old feel and a new one

cheers Gerard

g'day Gerard - now this is _totally cool_ ;-)

I'd say this phase is worth hanging around in for quite some time! I think you have nailed the 'blend' of flat colour into the image here, and executed superbly. The contrast in this capture suites the genre really well - which is great cause we have lots of winter days like this. The 'sparsness'? of the scene also contributes to the viewer being taken by surprise when you get drawn in? - always a good thing. Perhaps finally, the difference between thumbnail to full size is another way this image works well in this forum, but would also work really well in the home/gallery. I think you may very well be onto something very exciting here? Cheers G - adrian

I really like this and don't have the technical knowledge to even say why! The transition from "unreal" to real is just terrific. Great art. SueMc

LOVE this shot... i really can't get over it. reminds me of the movie "waking life", which uses animation over "real" footage... great stuff!
