Yes, Unfortunately Brad, this does happen. I have had a few people comment "ooooo I want one" however, I am quite happy to leave them where they love to be. I enjoy the pictures, once I am home, lol.
Thanks Brenda. Mostly moss on the little tree, but a bit of leaves as well.
Thank you both for looking and commenting.

Terrific shot! I've never seen a marten in the wild. Love the bokeh as well, with the dappled light and shade of the branches and leaves or moss.

pictures like this always make animal lovers want to make pets out of creatures who are probably better off on their own, nice contrast against the background

Mark: This is a pine marten, part of the weasel family. This is in the "wild" where I work. They are curious critters so not too hard to get a close photo if one is patient and quiet.Taken with E5, 50-200 MkI at 200mm.
Shirley, yes part of the weasel family and they are great mousers....none in out buildings when the martens are around.

Is that a weasel, or a martin? Either way it is a really cool shot! The bokeh is very nice. How did you get so close? Was it in a zoo?

A little weasle! Does he come to eat treats? I would think they would be excellent mousers? Do they eat mice? Something tells me he is fun to watch. You got a great shot of him Lawrence!
