I love the smell of the wood (birch especially smells good) and the crackling sounds of sap burning. This was taken at my son's sister-in-laws, where we go every year for Thanksgiving Day. It's a real fireplace and so very cozy. We have a gas fireplace, the flames are real, the heat is real, but that's where the atmosphere ends.

Shirley, I lived in upstate New York, for 5 years, and had a fire place in a 1860 house, and so enjoyed it,, your picture,, You are going really going into the the basics of atmosphere,, staring into fire, it must be innate,, for 10s, of 1000s of years,, people have lost themselves staring into the flames, oh and these flames are beautiful
