Amazing, Shirley.

thank you all so much! The OOF areas are created from the bend in Goosies body right before his black lovely neck so I focused in the 'curve' which caused the parts closer to the lens to be out of focus a bit, so I didn't even tip the photo, it was just that curve that created the effect.

When you look up close those layers of feathers, it become more clear why the feathers are great isolation.
Very well observed, Shirley. Like the composition and all. Two colors in color.

Amazing, you don't normally see a close study of the layers of feather like this!
I really like how you have the sharp in-focus edges running in a diagonal

Whoa! This is amazing. Feathers look like tiny combs. I must see if my two geese can be tamed; they're always on the edge of the lawn by the river.

Well done.

Lovely patterns Shirley. Aren't you going to miss all these critters when you move? : )

Yes, off the back of my dear friend Goosie. He was right at my feet. I sit on the banks of the little lake and he will come and stand beside me actually leaning against my legs. I just love him (& Lucy too, who is already on her nest). I had the big lens on the camera so I had a hard time getting any shots as he was too close to me! It's a great feeling when something so wild trusts you so much.
