The Shrine - a montage by Dennis

Tried something different as I had multiple shots of this remarkable monument.
1. Top left is the east side of the monument.
2. Middle left is the stairway down to the crypt.
3. Bottom left is in the crypt featuring Father and son statue.
The heart of the Shrine is the Sanctuary which is surrounded by the Ambulatory.
4. Top middle is the special feature of the Shrine, the Ray of Light. Thanks to the combined skills of the astronomer, the mathematician and the surveyor the Ray of Light falls on 'LOVE' on the Stone of Remembrance at 11am on the 11th of November and will continue to do so for 5,000 years at least. The time and date commemorate Armistice (meaning a stay of armed conflict) which marks the end of hostilities in World War 1.
An artificial light and a recorded message recreates this service every half hour during opening times all year round.
5. Centre image is the Stone of Remembrance which is a marble stone sunk below the pavement where no hands may touch it and where visitors must bow their heads to read the inscription:
GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN
6. Bottom middle is the Eternal Flame which was lit by Queen Elizabeth 2 in February 1954.
7. Top right is half way up the steps fo the shrine showing the foundation stone.
8. Middle right is the Forecourt which was dedicated by Queen Elizabeth 2 in 1954 to those who served in the 1939-1945 conflict. The inscription on the steps to the northern Forecourt reads:
LET ALL MEN KNOW THIS IS HOLY GROUND
Central to the Forecourt is a bronze inscription:
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
9. Bottom right is the avenue leading to the shrine flanked by Bhutan cypress trees.
