Waxwing (Silkehale / Bombycilla garrulus) (updated:2005-12-17)

The Waxwing L 17-21cm (6.6-8.2")
breeds in the north Scandinavian needleleaf forests. During the wintertime it is often seen in large flocks in Mountain Ash trees or in gardens. The Waxwing is at the size of a Starch. It is compact with a thick neck and a large head. The large neck-tuft combined with the grey-brown plumage is unique for the Waxwing. It has a black thin eye line and a little black bib, a yellow tail tip and yellow/white wing pattern.		 Names:
