On Sunday, November 26, 2006, a distant lump in a harvested cotton field, turned into a Short-eared Owl. The bird appeared to have been disturbed from its resting place by the numerous Harriers that were coursing the fields and ditches, as it continually watched and called out as hawks flew nearby. What a lucky daytime treat with such a cooperative bird. Click on any image to enlarge.
