The blue morph Ross's is much darker and very contrasty compared to blue morph Snow Geese. This usually makes the birds stand out in the crowd but unfortunately they sleep alot. Most blue Ross's turn out to be hybrids when examined closely. Mike has been in contact with the best field birders in California that are most familiar with these birds and all agree his bird meets the criteria for a rare blue morph. If these birds are just generational back crosses is a point still being studied but birds like these are hard to come by anywhere outside of California.
