Immature Bairds Sandpiper -Claunch Photo

The immature plumage is very distinct in its buff color and shape of the feathering. The scally appearing upper mantle, due to the small brightly edged feathers and the small, light edged, rounded and uniformly sized coverts are typical of all immature shorebirds.
