David Kirschke came down from Nashville for the L-t Duck and the scoters on TVA Lake. Unfortunately they have big equipment cleaning the vegetation off the banks and most of the ducks were spooked off the lake. I had told him Robco would be a good place to check while waiting on the birds to return to TVA. Well, this super bird is what he found.
The first year Kittiwake was a LIFER for David and we returned to TVA Lake and he picked up the immature Black Scoter for his TN List, before having to return to Nashville. After I arrived, this was the only photo I got of the distant bird before it disappeared. There are tons of Bonaparte's and Ring-bills on the lake plus thousands of ducks for the bird to hide among.
