19th February 2005, Maiden Stone

This is an ancient carved stone near our home.
It is known as the Maiden Stone and dates from Pictish times,
As you can see we've had snow,
and we've had a great time out walking in it.
I've taken loads of pictures today,
and uploaded some to various galleries.
I forgot to stick this one up earlier,
as we've been out at a ceilidh,
Conor n me were dressed up in kilts,
I've had several glasses of champagne,
so the head is a bit fuzzy.

Nice B&W image. Excellent composition with the stone leaning inwards.

Beautiful detail in the snow.
You know, I think a kilt and wig would go well together...

I hope you weren't here in Kilts - it was a very cold day after all!

Super image but are these ancient stones not supposed to ward off evil weather.

Love the starkness of this. The b/w is excellent for it.

This is one of the best * stones * pics you've done Andy. Well, I'd like to see Conor in a kilt since we saw you at your wedding in yours...but if you want to post another, that's okay too :>)

I *don't* want to see them in kilts -- but I do want to know what a ceilidh is (and how to pronounce it).
Gary Winters20-Feb-2005 01:56
Cool shot!

Why do I have the craving for a giant chocolate cookie wafer in some yummy vanilla ice cream?
Why no pics of the kilts???????lol
