26th October, time for porridge

winter is just around the corner,
a bright, blustery day today,
and a sharp frost this morning.
Not that I was out at that time,
But I heard the old windscreen scraper going outside.
Porridge has made a re-appearance on the breakfast table it seems.....

very funny for its obvious staging; one of the troops looks thoroughly unimpressed; enduringly beautiful image

Ideal photo for that Scotch Porridge Oats packet!

Yeah .. it's that time of year. We're starting to look for comfort food here, too. Things to take the chill off first thing in the morning.

Where are you from again, Northstar? Oh that's right! I love the way you compose your family shots - it looks highly professional. On the subject of porridge, I had it when I was in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago, with honey, nutmeg and sultanas. It's so tasty and nourishing, pity it gets such a bad press.

So that's porridge that makes Scots so strong and fierce ;)

Excellent fake rocks! Reminiscent of the Scott's Porridge Oats kilted stone-putting highlander perhaps? ;)

Have not had porridge for years, but I remember how it warmed the tummy on the way
to school on a frosty morning...

I'm trying to figure out the connection between fake rocks and porridge... the kids look great!

Is there enough porridge for one more !! Another great portrait. Your children are so photogenic & completely natural, they would make great models.

“Please, sir, I want some more!”

Not knowing what the real defintion of porridge was, I thought it was a type of oatmeal, I found this definition on Google: Thick oatmeal rarely found on American tables since children were granted the right to sue their parents. The name is an amalgamation of the words "Putrid," "hORRId," and "sluDGE."

Your photos are so wonderful. I am envious!

All you're missing is the glowing orange outline! Aiden's face is superb here!

I've always wondered.. what EXACTLY is porridge? Is it oatmeal? is it cream of wheat? or is it something altogehthr different?

Great b&w tonal range here.. great expressions (OMG the little one!!) and strong kids too
