Hello "guest." To quote the glossary of my book "Some Time on the Frontier" ... Malangs are, "followers of a creed of Sufism. They are usually homeless wanders who praise the Lord through music, dance and smoking charras. They wander careless of worldly affairs and desires. People give them charity, food and clothing and they pray for them in return. Similar to the Indian sadu or faqir. Can be used for people who emulate this lifestyle.

Hello Noor, Can you please explain what Malang means in a little more detail..? There is much contadictory "information" on the web. With your immersion in Afghan culture and languages perhaps you can add to our knowledge on this. GC
